Kebab El-Hilla
Ingredients:
- 500g beef cubes (medium size)
- 500g onions, sliced into julienne (about 3 to 4 onions)
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon meat spices
- Boiling water
Method: In a pot over heat, add the ghee. Once it melts and heats up, add the beef cubes and sauté them well until they turn a dark brown color. Add the sliced onions and stir with the meat until the onions soften and turn a light golden color.
Add enough boiling water to cover the meat, then add the meat spices and black pepper. Cover the pot and once it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer.
If the water reduces and the meat isn't fully cooked, add a cup of boiling water and lower the heat. Once the meat is cooked and the sauce thickens, add the salt.
Serve the kebab el-hilla with rice and vermicelli.
